NEWSDAY: $22G fine may follow raucous house party (UPDATE)

1337_Stony_Brook_Rd_-_Google_MapsThe owner of a Stony Brook house where three men were arrested last weekend during a raucous party has been cited by Brookhaven authorities for allegedly renting the home illegally, town officials said Wednesday.

Landlord Kerry Kimmins was cited for six code violations after town investigators inspected the house following a party on Saturday that attracted hundreds of guests, Town Supervisor Edward P. Romaine said.

Kimmins faces a maximum fine of $22,000 for a number of town code violations, Romaine said.

Kimmins was ordered to appear in 6th District Court in Patchogue on June 12. Attempts to reach Kimmins were unsuccessful.

Brookhaven officials said they believe as many as 10 people may have been living in the two-story house at 1337 Stony Brook Rd. Under town law, a house that size could accommodate no more than four unrelated people, officials said.
